Just for fun: Sanderson wins Brockport NE regional (Videos ADDED)

Seven years removed from winning a Gold medal in the Athens Olympic games Cael Sanderson donned a singlet to compete Saturday at the Brockport NE regional. In a nearly methodically fashion Sanderson disposed of his 3 opponents by a combined score of 39-0. One would have hardly guessed that he had taken any time off.

Entered in the tournament supposedly as an agreement or a “bet” with the Penn State wrestling team, (if they won the Big Tens, he would have to compete) The Nittany Lion Coach looked like he was on a vacation with the ease he won.

It also took the wrestling world by surprise as message boards across the internet were lighting up with exclamations of “REALLY?”. PSU Sports Information Director Pat Donghia was enjoying the shock effect it was having as he told me that everyone is “freakin out!”

Whether he continues competing or not has yet to be see. Sanderson said this is a one time deal but one thing is apparent: No one in the Lorenzo center is beating him anytime soon!
